There are a lot of days as a Mom, wife, pastor’s wife, where I need to snap myself out of a funk with a reminder of who God is.
Am I alone in that? — I don’t think I am.
The days are fast and difficult to find joy in.
My days are long and fast. Often filled with a lot of driving and meal prep, and the obvious meal clean up… the least of my favorites. There are days full of joy-filled news, where I find peace and happiness with so much dang ease. On those days my kids wake up and kiss me on my cheek and tell me how wonderful, perfect, and beautiful I am. 😉 My husband and I are totally synced up and we are each other’s favorite person. Those days are the best, aren’t they? A total dream come true.
Then there are other days. And frankly, I often think on those days that THIS is not what I signed up for. These are the days when my kids wake up fighting and asking for a snack as soon as their feet hit the ground. We get bad reports from people within our church family, sometimes someone is in their last few days with us on this side of heaven. My husband I feel like we are on separate teams and playing the best game of our lives against each other… which in reality means we are BOTH losing. Which just adds insult to injury because we both like to win! I don’t know about you, but those days seem so long and heavy to me. On those days, I don’t feel joy, peace or happiness. I feel anger, sadness, and alone.
Our days are usually pretty straight forward with all our tasks that we have to do. But what isn’t simple is our responsibility to manage our feelings in the midst of our day. Even on the good days it isn’t always simple to manage those.
Finding joy requires action.

Both days require actions from us to set ourselves up for success. They both require us, as Christian women, to hit the Word of God, and worship our King. This, and only this is where we will find lasting joy, peace, and happiness. We will never find that in the world, even in our spotless homes, with our perfect children, and handsome husbands. 🙂 We have to fill ourselves up with the Holy Spirit… DAILY. He and ONLY He can supply us with these things.

Listen.
Joshua was leading Israel into the promised land, a task given to him by the Lord. The Lord literally told him that he would do this fully and do it well. Yet we see Joshua meeting with the Lord daily. And if you read the story (which you totally should) it actually doesn’t say how many times a day he met with the Lord for guidance, just moments when he sought out His counsel. I believe it was more times in a day than I can ever dream up.
He met with the Lord often. As many times as he needed direction, he met with Him. Every time Joshua needed reassurance, he met with Him. Every time Joshua needed courage, he met with Him. Every time Joshua needed strength, he met with Him. And you know what happened… He was always met with BY the Lord. And the Lord gave Joshua all that he needed, and then some.
Here is the good news…
Guess what? He does the very same thing for us! IF we meet with Him, He will meet with us, and give us everything that we need… and then some.
Here’s the thing, sis. You and I, we have to take action and meet with Him. And when we do, the long hard days are so much easier to bear. We find joy in the midst of pain and confusion. We find peace which gives us strength to carry on. And we find our friend who brings true happiness to our souls, which gives us contentment in our very real day.
Joy, peace, and happiness are fruits that you can only find when you have the Lord with you. And we need Him daily. Let’s take action together, and meet with Him today.

Comment below if you’re with me.
I’m with you sis! We’ve got this, because we have our best friend Jesus with us, and we are going to invite Him in daily. Now let’s go KEEP all our things!!
